I think back to every video I’ve ever made as a kid, short films with my barbie dolls, skits with my friends recorded on photobooth, videostars where I created my own music videos, and even old iMovies where I learned the basics of transitions and storylines. When I was younger that was all experimental things I did for fun. Now as an adult those old projects have more meaning. I realize they are what pointed me in the direction of film.
I want to create stories. I want to record stories. I want to share them, and in the best way I know how. When I come up with an idea, the first thing I do is write it down. I look at all my options, and try to bring the best piece I can to life. Editing plays a huge role in a film, but the shots and composition are equally as important. Without great shots, there is nothing to work with so you have to take planning seriously when you set out to shoot. I focus on the look of each video I create, taking careful consideration of my composition and what impact it will have on the final project. I love experimenting with new angles and different techniques. To me filmmaking is as much a passion as it is a field of work, and I wouldn’t trade this dream of working in the film industry for the world.
